IS IT LIVERPOOL'S SEASON OR ANOTHER SEASON?

Liverpool for recent years has been a challenger for each and every trophy it has been involved in.  Since the appointment of the German Jurgen Klopp in
2015 the mood around Anfield seems to have improved a lot compared to his predecessor Brendan Rodgers whose contract was ended abruptly. Liverpool would then go on to win their first premier league title after waiting for a period of thirty years which was largely welcomed by Liverpool fans in Liverpool and across the world.

Last season Liverpool Challenged for trophies but was a season to forget as a trophyless season was accompanied by another woe as key players of Klopp's lineup were out of the team due to long-term injuries. From the highly regarded center Back Virgil Van Dijk his compatriot Joe Gomez, Joel Matip were all not available to Thiago, Oxlade, and Naby Keita who were out of the team due to injuries the whole  2020/21 season.  This unprecedented situation really ruined Liverpool's season as their bitter rivals Manchester City were crowned champions and they were made to settle for champions league places number three in the premier league table.

This 2021/22 season however so much has changed with the return of key players back to Jurgen Klopp's team selection squad has bolstered another hopeful season for the fans to see Liverpool clinch a silverware and add to the rich collection in the trophy cabinet. This season has also seen the introduction of Diogo Jota and Konate

into their full debut season not forgetting the January signing Luis Diaz ( pictured right with salah) who indeed will foster the Liverpool attack with the skills set he has. Salah's statistics have been eye-catching already with 19 goals and 10 assists in the premier league alone with as many games to play compared to last season where he had 22 goals and 5 assists in all competitions.

Salah has not been the only stand-alone tally mark for Liverpool as Sadio and Diogo Jota have been leading the frontline for Liverpool and also the premier league goal-scoring chart with the fore scoring 11 goals and the latter getting 12 goals so far. The veteran fullbacks have also not been left behind as Arnold leads the way on the top assists chart with 10 assists joint with Salah and leapfrogging Robertson who has 9 assists in his pocket. All these impressive statistics have contributed to positive results as Liverpool remains a challenger in the champions league where it has had a good run of 7 consecutive unbeaten games tearing apart the likes of Athletico Madrid, Ac Milan to name just a few. On the domestic cups, Liverpool Fc has had an improvement this 2021/22 season compared to last season where they were knocked out in its initial stages.

Liverpool's game plan of handling a game-by-game basis still gives them hope as the closest title contenders ahead of Chelsea and leapfrogging Manchester City who are chasing to retain their Premier League title by 3 points with as many games to play and of course the return leg between the two. Liverpool squad depth has been most of the most impressive in recent years as this has not only given Klopp a "headache" to choose from but also pool to choose which players to play and for squad rotation purposes.

Liverpool has a chance to double their impressive results this season with a chance to clinch another silverware Carabao cup as they head to Wembley to face Chelsea Fc who are from a recent success of winning the club world cup for the first time in their history. A win for Liverpool Fc in the Carabao cup final would be a great start for their current campaign and a motivation to achieve the best results for the rest of the competitions they are involved in but a win is not always guaranteed considering the recent fixtures between Chelsea Fc and Liverpool Fc has been so close in terms of results. At the end of the current campaign, Funs and pundits will judge Liverpool Fc based on the Silverware they would have won, will the Liverpool players shut the pundits, rivals and give joy to millions of fans across the world something to celebrate after the horror of the Corona Virus pandemic or it will be another trophyless season to forget?
